Plans and copy limits

Copying a screen into Figma is the one metered action in betterdesign. Browsing, searching, filtering, saving, and opening screens are all unlimited on every plan, including the free one.

One Copy to Figma press is one copy.

  • Pasting the same screen into Figma five times is still one copy — the clipboard is yours once you have it.
  • Being blocked because you are out of quota is not counted. Refusing a copy never costs you one.
  • A copy is counted when it is approved, which happens just before the screen reaches your clipboard. If the clipboard step then fails — you declined the permission prompt, or your browser blocked the write — the copy has been counted even though nothing arrived.

That last case is worth knowing about, because it is the one where the count and your experience disagree. If it happens to you, email support@betterdesign.ai with the screen’s URL and we will put the copy back. Copy to Figma covers how to stop it recurring.

This is the part worth reading, because it works differently on free and paid plans.

Your free quota is not a calendar month. We count the copies you have made in the last 30 days, and each copy stops counting 30 days after you made it.

So copies come back one at a time rather than all at once. If you used your last copy on the 3rd, that particular copy frees up on the 2nd of the following month — you do not wait for a reset date.

On a paid plan we count from the start of your current billing period. When your subscription renews, the count returns to zero and your full allowance is available again.

Your billing period start date is shown in Settings → Plan & Billing. That date, not the 1st of the month, is your reset date.

Your allowance comes from your plan, and current numbers live on the pricing page — they are deliberately not repeated here, because a number in two places eventually disagrees with itself.

Settings → Plan & Billing shows your own limit and what you have used.

When you have used your allowance, Copy to Figma stops and offers an upgrade. Nothing else about your account changes: your saved screens, your history, and the screens you already copied are all untouched.
